X-Men: Apocalypse – Trailer

Time for me to acknowledge that I am officially concerned that this movie might end up being terrible. In spite of being completely obsessed with Bryan Singer’s last film, X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), I have to admit that this trailer does nothing for me apart from seeing Psylocke in action, a character I have loved for decades. I was privately concerned after seeing the last two trailers but convinced myself that they were still working on film and that prior to the film’s release we would see the most astonishing trailer imaginable. Well, this is the worst of the bunch. I don’t like the look of the film, the effects feel unfinished at best, and Jennifer Lawrence appears as if she would rather be anywhere on this planet other than on the screen in another X-Men film. I sincerely hope I am dead wrong and that on the day this movie is released I will be forced to apologize for this post, but I refuse to be a blind fan who fools themselves into thinking everything is okay when clearly something is dreadfully wrong. My fear is that Tim Miller’s Deadpool, one of the most entertaining movies we are likely to see all year, is going to make X-Men: Apocalypse seem hopelessly tone deaf and obsolete by comparison.
