I’ve been itching to have a new show to sink my teeth into for a few months now and it looks like creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy Nolan have finally delivered something that I can plan my calendar around, HBO’s Westworld. Based on the 1973 film by novelist Michael Crichton, this show first popped up on my radar last year due to a controversy over what some extras would be asked to do on set (see full story here). Call me a pig, but it came as no surprise to me that an original show by HBO would feature a hell of a lot of sexual activity and I feigned no outrage at the time. I would have never lasted past season 1 of True Blood if not for the thinly veiled softcore porn featured in just about every episode. At any rate, I love westerns and I love science fiction and this show features both. I basically couldn’t ask for a show that suits my personal taste more. This October, I know what I’ll be doing with my Sunday evenings, but enough of my yammering, check out the new trailer below:
