First up is Larisa Shepitko’s devastating film ‘The Ascent’ (1977) about two Russian soldiers captured by the Germans during WWII. Then we switch gears to discuss the best propaganda film ever made for a war that never happened, Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Starship Troopers’ (1997).
