The H8ful Eight – Teaser

Well my day just improved dramatically. The official teaser to Quentin Tarantino’s eighth film (depending upon how one counts Kill Bill: Vol 1 & II and Death Proof), ‘The H8ful Eight’ has arrived. The reasons to be excited for this movie are many from the 70mm limited theatrical run to getting a chance to hear Ennio Morricone’s first original score to a western in over 40 years. For me, I’m most excited to see Tarantino get the opportunity to showcase everything he loves about the brutal, hallucinatory films of Sergio Corbucci. Sergio Corbucci was a contemporary of Sergio Leone but while Leone’s films were operatic, Corbucci’s westerns were savage and sadistic. Corbucci’s darkest film (and my personal favorite), The Great Silence (1968) looks like it was a major influence on The H8ful Eight. The real treat of The H8ful Eight is seeing Tarantino reunite a who’s who of some of the best acting talent he has worked with from the beginning of his career to now including but not limited to Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Samuel L. Jackson, & Kurt Russell. There is no movie this year that I am more excited to see. So enough jabbering. Check out the teaser below:
